BEST OF THE BEST: ECG, EGM and CIED Case Competition Sessions at APHRS-2025

At APHRS 2025, this time, a new session titled “Best of the Best” is being introduced. This is a clinical case competition for fellows in training, that will be conducted under three separate categories, namely: 1.ECG 2.Intracardiac Electrogram (EGM) and 3.Device (CIED) tracings. Only electrophysiology/cardiology fellows in training within the Asia-Pacific region are eligible to participate. The initial case submission will be via the APHRS 2025 congress website. All case submissions will be graded by a panel of faculty and shortlisted submissions under each category will be invited for on-site presentation at APHRS scientific sessions 2025. The on-site competition will be conducted in two rounds and the final winners in each category will be announced and receive certificates at the closing ceremony of APHRS 2025. All fellows invited to present in person at APHRS 2025 will receive complimentary registration. However, the presenters will be responsible for their own travel, accommodation and other costs to attend APHRS 2025.

Guidelines for Submission

  1. The category of case submission (ECG, EGM or CIED) should be clearly indicated during submission.
  2. The category of submission should be decided by the presenter based on where the main focus of the case lies. For instance, an “ECG” category case may have an EGM as part of the presentation; however the main feature or unique point of the case should rest in the ECG. Similarly, ECGs may be shown as part of a “Device tracing” case; however the main or unique feature of the case should be the device tracing(s).
  3. The presentation should be prepared in PowerPoint, (with no more than 5 slides, apart from the title slide and presenters’ details slide), converted to PDF and uploaded in PDF format in the submission website.
  4. The presentation itself should not contain any identification details of the presenters’ name, institution or country in order to enable anonymous grading. The presenters’ details will be entered in a separate slide apart from the presentation slides.
  5. The last date for submission to the “best of the best” case competition is April 23, 2025, noon (JST).
  6. Fellows shortlisted for the second in-person round will be intimated by email, with further instructions regarding rules for on-site presentation.
